A Chinese white tea from the Fujian Provence, this Certified Organic and Fair Trade Pai Mu Tan has a delicate flowery taste to it, steeping a subtle light color. A rare and refreshing treat, white teas are made from tiny buds picked in early spring before they open. The fresh leaf is then delivered to the factory on foot, withered, lightly rolled, and dried naturally. Once dried, they resemble small white blossoms; medium-bodied with a hay-like smoothness. Considered to be a true tea; meaning it undergoes very little processing, you will find this Pai Mu Tan to be velvety with a subtle peach flavor, reminiscent of a light Bordeaux.
